Who's behind WarriorPath
In the NSW fight — in uniform and out
Joel Beam enlisted at 19 for one reason: to earn the Trident. He spent his 20th birthday in boot camp with no backup plan.
He earned it, spent a career as a SEAL and special operations combat medic, and when the body finally paid the bill he stayed in the community's corner: 500+ SEALs mentored through their next chapter, and today the official Naval Special Warfare Mentor for the Mid America region.
WarriorPath is the same mission, pointed at the next generation: the kids trying to get in.

The operator years
The road in uniform
BUD/S Class 253 — consistently peer-evaluated in the top handful of his class.
18D combat medic — the Green Beret medical sergeant pipeline. Honor graduate.
Two platoons at SEAL Team One, deploying to Iraq during the surge and across the Pacific.
Two augment deployments with the Navy’s highest-tier SEAL unit in Afghanistan.
Hundreds of real-world missions — direct action, hostage rescue, special reconnaissance. Combat decorated.
Career-ending neck and back injuries — the price of the road, paid in full.
Ask him about the rollback
The chapter that matters most to a candidate
The part of the record Joel leads with isn't the missions. At BUD/S he failed drownproofing — rolled from Class 252, watched his class move on, started over with strangers. Public failure, from a guy crushing everything else.
He came back and finished at the top of 253. That rollback taught him what he now tells every candidate: failure is a data point, not a verdict. When you blow a PST, he's been the guy on the pool deck. He knows exactly which fork you're standing at — wallow, or wake up tomorrow and attack the weakness.
In and out of uniform
The second service — out of uniform, never out of the fight
Leaving the teams didn't end the service. It changed the uniform.
Built a veteran accelerator at Omnicom — year-long paid internships for SOF veterans inside portfolio companies.
COO of the SEAL Future Foundation — mentored 500+ Navy SEALs through their post-service transitions and built them a first-of-its-kind app uniting the community.
Director at MilVet Angels Foundation — putting veterans on the cap tables of Anduril, Anthropic, Shield AI, and more.
Operations lead for the Punta Brava Foundation — accelerating select SEALs' post-service careers.
Naval Special Warfare Mentor, Mid America region — Kansas, Missouri, southern Illinois. The role WarriorPath scales.
In the news — the SEAL Future Foundation app
WarriorPath isn't Joel's first build for this community. It's his third — and this one's for the kids at the very start of the road.
Why he built this
Why WarriorPath
Most candidates don't fail because their bodies quit. They fail because nobody taught them how to train and nobody was in their corner the morning after a bad day. Good mentors are rare and local; the kids with the most heart often have the least access.
After mentoring hundreds of SEALs on the way out of the Navy, Joel built WarriorPath for the ones trying to get in: a program built around your actual weaknesses, a mentor who walked the road, and official PSTs. Free for candidates, always.
“The standard is the standard. Don't ask for it to be lowered — ask for the strength to rise to it.”
From the mentor's corner
What he tells every candidate
Failure is a data point, not a destination.
Crush the minimums. Then go past them.
Motivation fades in the surf. Drive gets you up at 0400. Find your why — root it deeper than ego.
The operator you want to be is being built right now, in the dark, with nobody watching.
Hard guys don’t cave. They rise.
The path is walkable. He's proof.
You don't have to be special or in shape today. You have to want it, put in the work, and grind until you get there. Start where every contract starts — know your numbers.
